Is this LOVE?

As I was searching high and low, far and wide for a new handbag and a pair of shoes, the only color that was going through my mind was BLACK or anything dark. I suck at taking care of my stuffs especially those in lighter shades such as white and beige. My white flats are in a miserable state cause it looks like I’ve been working as a farmer all my life. So now I’ve decided to be a bit more practical and get everything in black. Easier to maintain and clean … I hope.

My eyes were set on this black number which enables me to put unlimited items in it and I found matching shoes as well. BUT, I wanted to remain sane in the eyes of my husband and decided to just get the handbag first, then probably get the shoes next month or secretly get it without him next week  …

First, my husband helped me survey basically ALL the bags they had in Parkson, Gurney plaza and managed to short list a few. I was still not fully satisfied with the selections and insisted that we go look see at Charles and Keith before I can finalize my decision. Hey! It’s an important decision in life … there must be chemistry between the bag and me or else it wont last for at least 6 months. I was already on cloud 9 when I saw this baybee and no other bag was as pretty anymore to me. My husband tried to persuade me to get a different design from there but still I was stubborn wouldn’t budge from my decision. I was smiling all the way home with my new LOVE  baybee of course.

Altho we had things to do after buying my baybee, I just couldn’t wait to get back home and spend more time with my baybee. At my parents house, I was just staring at the bag smiling and I told my husband and dad “I cannot stop looking at my bag la” …. sigh … How can this NOT be LOVE!??!?!?

Arees : The developments and the underconstructions

Where do I even begin to start on his progress???

The developments

Let’s start with his diet. He has now reduced in his milk intake and consuming more junkies food. He loves his cheese crackers and sometimes rice. He loves roti and sometimes even spicy curry. What else is in his menu: chocolates, cakes, pizza, calsiyum, yakult, jelly and other things that we, his parents love to munch on as well. Of course I give him his daily dosage of Scott’s Emulsion as a supplement. It’s actually a supplement for our whole family since we lack vitamins and minerals to help us grow.

He’s as active as a horse forever galloping here and there and doing something. He slams on plays the piano and the harmonica when he’s in the mood for music. He does house work and a lot of gardening. He knows that my mother sweeps the compound first before she waters her plants cause he goes by that order as well.

He knows where everything is and where everything should go. If he wants something, he’ll bring u to it and points at it. If there’s food on the table and he’s hungry he would climb on the chair and get it himself. Oh and he loves pisang goreng.

Then comes his comprehension. He is actually very good in understanding the adults. What we tell him to do he would do it and sometimes he would deliberately do the opposite accompanied with his evil laugh just to annoy the heck out of us all.

He use to repeat the word “mama” everytime he was hungry but at that time I didn’t know. So I corrected him by telling him it’s “MA” not “MAMA” cause I assume he was calling me. Then he repeats “mamamamamamamamama” until I felt like spanking him on his buttocks. So he figured that his mom was just too slow, he then would either show me his bottle or pacifier to be more precise. Then I knew he was hungry or sleepy. Hua hua!! Sorry la arees … Your mother always thinks out of the box. =P

Sometimes when you scold him he would scold you back with a long lecture especially when we’re driving back home. Melampau betul.

He knows the names of certain objects and would sometimes try to pronounce it now such as “car” and “book”. He especially loves the tiny hard cover animal book I got for him and his current favorite animal would be the hippopotamus. He cracks up every time we pronounce that word to him.

The under construction

My current concern for arees would be his ability to speak and pronounce words. I read somewhere that some toddlers are slow in catching up words but by the age of 3 they should start saying proper words. This gave me a bit of hope. Then I read this in Babycenter which brought me back to concern mode.

At his first birthday, your child will likely use one to five words meaningfully. By 14 months, that working vocabulary may grow to seven real words, though he may have up to 20 “words” (these may be more like sounds) that only he and someone close to him can understand. He’ll even practice inflection, raising his tone when asking a question. He might say “Up-py?” when he asks to be carried, for example. (Babycenter 2010)

He does understand words and instructions well but the problem is that he can’t seem to pronounce the words yet. He only speaks gibberish and now he is gibberish”ing” even more than usual. At times I do catch him sneaking one or two proper words out his mouth but that would be it. He will not repeat them. Only recently he keeps repeating the word “car” every time he sees one.

The cute part tho is when u can just strike up a conversation with him about nothing and it can just go on and on and on. He would then crack up a small laugh in between the conversation and continue his gibberish. That’s when we bond the most I guess cause we’re trying to understand one another and love each others company very much.

Sometimes after work, I would go lie down on his lap where he gives me a kiss on my head and starts playing with my hair. I never wanna get up … sigh ….

He may have trouble pronouncing words but he has no trouble expressing his love at all. Alhamdulillah for his progress thus far. Pronouncing “car” is a good start I suppose. Tak pe arees, pelan pelan kayuh …. Ma and Ba simply adore you ….MUUUUAAAAACCCCCKKKKs!!

CAFE 57

I hope I got the number right …

My husband had raved about this joint for as long as I can remember and every-time we decide to eat there, it’s ALWAYS closed. Of course I was skeptical about it at first for a restaurant which is forever closed. Then last week as we were in the vicinity to my surprise it was open . My husband siap made a U-turn just to go back. So finally his wish of bringing me there for dinner came true …

The ambiance was actually quite cozy and the waitress or owner was very friendly indeed. There was no crowd yet which made me like the place even more plus the food was delivered quite fast. The menu was a variety of western and malay and the price range is very affordable. I had mee udang which was quite tasty, but unfortunately the mee was too much for me to finish. Thank god I have my husband … ngeh ngeh ngeh … He had nasi goreng kampung which was exceptionally delicious. I love!!!!! Arees had a good time I might say as he enjoyed eating the noodle and rice with his CalciYum. He was also very busy checking out a girl sitting on the next table. Anak aku oh anak aku!

Overall a very pleasant and satisfying dinner experience and I’m sure we would definitely go back when we’re in the neighborhood again.

I WANT INTERNET!!!!!!

How does one live without internet!???!!?? HOW!!??!!?? For the past 2 weeks or so the internet in the office has been a pain in the gluteus maximus and one can literally die of boredom. I couldn’t start on my paper, I couldn’t send out important emails, I couldn’t even update my poor blog. I was of course devastated when I couldn’t take care of my little pet as well so yesterday one SMART soul in the office fixed the problem and WALLA!!! There’s INTERNET!!!! I hope this will last for GOOD. I cannot have another non internet week again. Stress can KILL and I’m just too young to be stressed out. So please Internet … don’t go bonkers again ya!

My newest Bambino!

I finally got my new phone after almost 4 years of using my loyal and reliable D600. I’ve contemplated for ages about changing my phone. Since buying my D600, I’ve been a loyal fan of SAMSUNG because most of its phone designs are just so sleek and classy. My first choice was a Omnio (till now it’s still XPENSIVE!!!) then I decided on a JET because it was slightly less expensive. And then SAMSUNG decided to be SMART and kind to people with no money like me by introducing little CORBY.

It is a replica of the JET in terms of interface design but the specifications are the most basic. I don’t need a high performance phone because I only use my phone to call and take pics of my son and myself. So when I saw a fully touch screen phone which is very reasonably priced, very cute in design and includes the most basic specification plus a 2GB memory stick made me fall truly madly deeply in love with it. The phone even comes with ONE year warranty and insurance protection. Even my son has no insurance YET! … huhuhu …

I love the large screen and the resolution is excellent for a 2.0MP phone. Under proper lighting, you are able to take very clear pictures as well. You can view pics and watch videos in full screen mode while hiding all menus until you “summon” them back. It took me only half a day to get familiar with the navigation and functions of the phone, so working with touch screen is no hassle at all.

I personally think the smart unlock feature is so cool cause all you need to do it to just write a character, which you have already chosen earlier, on-screen to unlock your phone. You can even set certain characters to certain contacts as speed dials which is very convenient although the downside of it is you need to remember which character u assign to which contact.

Messaging is also not a problem although I was anticipating this to be the main problem for me. Even with my FAT fingers I am still able to type like I did with my D600 but not as fast yet. In time and with lotsa practice I’m sure I’ll speed things up.

My verdict is awesomeness with a capital A. I am one very satisfied customer and I just can’t stop smiling everything I look at my little CORBY. *sigh …

Pizza Nite

The office connection S.U.C.K.S big time now. I cant even read ONE email in peace before I get cut off. Sapa la gatai pi letak wireless kat sini!!! arrrghhhh!!!

Anyways since I am connected now I will waste no time and update my blog. So many things to write but so little connection time!!! uwarrrrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!

Last week I treated my family to some Domino’s to celebrate me being a genius … ngeh ngeh ngeh … I know getting a 4 flat will be a mind-boggling challenge and almost impossible to achieve for this semester and so I decided to put that achievement down in history and what better way to remember my achievement than with FOOD. After this when I ask my siblings “Remember that time I got ALL A’s?” and of course they will never remember that. And when I rephrase and ask them “Remember when we had Domino’s to celebrate me being a genius?!?!”  …. Of course THAT they will remember kan!?!?!? … huhuhu …

Alhamdulillah, all my siblings were around plus my cousin and my uncle dropped to celebrate the “special occasion” ekekekek …. there were so much food to go around and thank got I have my husband to help finish them ALL! I knew I married you for a reason SAYANG … *wink wink*

I hope that I am able to maintain my grades and hopefully I can continue treating my family to many many special occasions to come. AMEEEN!!

PS in PS3

PS in this case is Pet Society and PS3 is Play Station 3. I saw my brother checking his Facebook on TV yesterday and of course la me being the jakun sister got all excited to play with my pet on PS3. Altho it was a tad slow in loading, I was shrieking happily when I saw BLU BLU on TV. I think after this if my husband even hints that he wants to get a PS3, by all means SAYANG, I aint gonna complain …

The 18th months shot

This morning I took Arees to get his 18th months shot at the gov clinic. I brought him all by myself cause I wanted to test if I could still handle him alone. Altho he was very cranky and clingy this morning got a premonition I suppose … kekekek … I still insisted on taking him alone. After my bro dropped us off, we made our way in as normal and he was behaving as well. Then as we entered the nurses room he started screaming his head off … itu baru normal check up belum inject lagi tu … the nurses and myself tried to console him but he still refused to get on the weighing machine so in the end I had to carry him and stand on the weighing machine too. Then he stopped crying but still wanted to be carried. In the “injection room” he already knew what was in store for him and started fidgeting as I was holding his tighter. Once the needle penetrated into his flesh, he let out a big scream and continued till the needle was taken out. After shoving the pacifier into his mouth he was quiet again. But there were tears in his eyes. Kesian Ma tgk … The I hugged him till my brother came back to fetch us. He was all fine in the car after that. As we reached my parents, he went straight to get a broom and started sweeping the house compound. Awwww!! MA baby so strong! Alhamdulillah! ^_^

I notice he has been having this phobia of going to the clinic / hospital since he got  stitches on his head (Read – Arees is Hulk). My poor baby, hopefully u wont have to endure getting shots anymore till it’s totally necessary. MA loves you verrrrrrrrrry much kay … muuuuuaaaaccccckkkkkksssssssss!!! XOXOXOXO

SMART Wonder World

Last weekend after we were done surveying for our “coming soon” nephew, we decided to bring Arees for a crazy heart thumping roller coaster ride, erk … ok la … a safe but fun time at the indoor playground in Jusco. I was very hungry actually but my husband insisted then we let Arees loose for 20 minutes. Well that was the time limit for RM 2 … I think.

I had to give in to my hunger just to satisfy both my boys. Oh the sacrifices I make in life!!!!   … Anyways … Arees was all hyped when he saw the playground filled with so many little tots just like him. Seeing the endless glee on his face made me forget all about my hunger … … He loved the ball pit where he was covered with lotsa lotsa balls and kept kicking them around. There were 2 other bigger boys in the pit with him and of course they were bullying my son … … My hubby and me were watching them closely and was curious on how Arees would react. He played it cool as well and mingled along with the 2 bullies bigger tots. They were throwing the balls at him and on him and Arees was just smiling and laughing a long. Then when they were done and Arees was about to leave the pit, Arees took 2 handfuls of the balls and threw them back at the big boys. The boys were stumped and started complaining to my hubby and me “Look he threw the ball at me!!!” …. Wakakakakak!!! Sapa suruh bully anak aku!!!! … but after that I did tell Arees not to be a bully cause nobody likes a bully .. right??!?!? ….

Well after Arees had a gala of a time at wonder world, we needed to satisfy my ever-increasing hunger. So I suggested Paddingtons to my husband. It’s so easy to convince people like my husband since we are both gluttons for fattening good food and especially easier to coax my husband when I am the one paying … huhuhu …

Overall it was a darn good weekend as usual. Cant wait for tomorrow … Happy weekend fellow bloggers ^_^

My son has acquired flirting dating skills at a very tender age of 18th months. When I am at work working my arse off to put food on the table for my family he sneakily would bring Siti Rokiah to the back of my brothers car and start whispering just the two of them and U can hear chuckles coming from Siti as tho Arees just told her something hilarious. He is still obsessed with the belly button so he sometimes would wanna see HERS!!! AIYOOOO!!! Thank GOD there’s only one little girl in the neighborhood. I don’t think I can handle more than one lawsuits this …

Colourfully Messy! Ngeh ngeh ngeh … I was too engrossed with renovating my pets home that I didn’t do anything else. I have a paper to submit and I have yet to find a proper title when my heart kept saying “A bit more, a bit more” and now it’s time to go home already. Ish ish ish!!! Next week I’ll be a lot more strict with myself. I HOPE!!!

Apakabaaaaaa!!!

This is one of his common phrases / word he uses since he could talk gibberish. There’s also “paka paka paka”, “aboooyaaa” and many more which is too difficult to spell to add to the list. Recently I found out the meaning of  ”Apakabaaaaaaaa” when I was praying Maghrib at my moms, Arees was just looking at me and chanting saying the word ”Apakabaaaaaaaa” repeatedly till I was done with my prayers. Then when I looked up to him, he smiled and said “Apakabaaaaaaaa” again. All this while he meant to say “AllahuAkbar” but he could only pronounce “Apakabaaaaaaaa”. Even when he listens to the Azan he would either say “Apakabaaaaaaaa” or a very loud and long “ALLAH”. Very the Islamic son I have, don’t I?!?!?! Alhamdulillah

Wedding Color Combos

I got a lot a bit carried away today with the colour schemes. My sister wanted WHITE, GREY/SILVER and BLUE which I tot was quite sweet and elegant but I still wanted to test other colour combo as well if they look nicer. I created 10 different schemes but I think some are just too gaudy for weddings. My hands so itchy so can’t stop with the schemes. So peeps please cast your votes on the most doable combo for an elegant wedding reception. Suggestions for other colour schemes are also welcomed. Thanks a bunch ya  …

The Wedding Planner ME!

I’m just gleaming with excitement since my sister has confirmed her wedding date. Seronok macam aku plak yang nak kahwin. Since then my sister and myself have written a list of things to do and  to ponder to buy. We even bought a Bobbi Brown foundation stick just to practice on her Nikah make-up cause I will be her mak andam for the nikah. WEeeeeehooooooo!!! There’s just so many things to do but the good thing is that the wedding is only in December. So will have ample of time to survey and get the best materials. I can’t wait to shop for myself as well and I am definitely wearing Punjabi suits. Oh how I’ve missed them. *drrrooooollll

I had had this image in my head since I got all hyped for the wedding. Pretty girl with flowing long hair plus some flowers and butterflies everywhere. My first attempt was to try it in Illustrator but that was a disaster since I can’t draw in Illustrator. Although I can export it to Illustrator the output is totally different from my original, color wise. Jadi kesimpulan nya I did everything in Flash la. The red roses is actually edited from a pic I googled but everything else I traced and drew and modified accordingly. Overall concept and idea is solely MINE!

First Entry from New Office

Today I’ve officially moved my bum bum to the new office since I was told that the internet is “SO FAST!!” here …. ekekekke … … Been installing new software for my personal use for my study and office use of course in my brand new lappy. All the lecturers got one as a new year gift and hopefully it doesn’t die on me. I am actually the virus queen and I tend to bring unwanted virus all the time and everywhere. In my previous office they call me “THE virus” and am currently also upholding the title …. HUA HUA!!! So will see how long this lappy will last ya! So til then have a pleasant weekend peepz ^_^

The Athlete and his Ma!

Last night after parking my car on the 4th floor of my apartment, Arees and myself were waiting patiently for the lift. To my horror, out of the 5 lifts that we have, only ONE was working!!!! What the $^#%@#$%@$%#^!!!!!  … And the lift that was working, whether it was going up or down,  it was AlWAYS full!!!!

I then had 2 options which was ONE … go back to my car and drive back to my parents or TWO … walk up FOURTEEN flights of stairs!?!?!?!?

I opted for option TWO cause I was not in the mood to be caught in a jam if there was one. So being the considerate mom which I am, I volunteered to carry arees all the way up but arees refused since he loves to climb stairs. Lucky me!!! Wakakakaka!!!! When he is at my mom’s he would climb up and down the stairs for at least an hour every day and still he wont get tired of it. He has been preparing for this moment!!

We then started our journey one step at a time. I would start counting his steps …  ”One, Two” and when he reached the next step he would shout “TEEEEEEEEEEEE”!!! Happily  … And this we repeated till be reached the 18th floor. It was not as tiring as I expected it to be cause arees was taking his own sweet time walking up. Ppl who were walking up and down the stairs would stop and smile at arees while giving him some moral support such as “good boy lorr!!” or “u can do it” or “comei nya budak ni” … ngeh ngeh ngeh … 

But then by the time we got home all I wanted to do was to do nothing and asked my husband to handle his son plak where else arees wanted to continue playing.

In conclusion, climbing up 14 flights of stairs is not as bad when U have a companion with u but I would never do it again!! Well not for this year at least.

Grey / white hair has been growing like weed on my head lately and I haven’t a clue why. Before I got married I did have one or two strands of white hair which were keeping to themselves and not showing off that much but now it’s like a party up there especially at the sides and the front. Probably not enuff vitamins kot or I’m just getting wiser by the day. The solution is to color my hair very the often now. Mu HAHAHA!!!

Here’s a glimpse of the future when my head is fully covered with greys. By then u can start calling me – STORM!!! and when there’s an XMEN there must be Wolverine right!?!?!? So here’s my very own gundu Wolverine. ngeh ngeh ngeh!!!
