His One YEAR Celebration!!! – Planning Phase 1

I know I am about 4 months early in preparation but since my husband suggested that we have a small party at our new home (hopefully can move in by then) and my sil suggested making some door gifts so now I’m just overflowing with ideas.

I’ve got a visual picture of the card cum frame which I wanna make as a door gift. She suggested cookies and all but I don’t think budget permits and due to current recession I will try to cut cost by trying to make everything myself. From the cards to the items on the menu. huhuhu … Well you can say that this is the first time I’ve actually planned for a party (as far as i can recall since i am loosing my memory bit by bit =P) So since it is my sons first birthday I don’t mind doing it for him!!!

So back to the card cum frame. It would be like a frame with his pic in it and it’s gonna be an elegant black and white theme. But probably would add some bright colored cut outs on the frames so there would not be a same design for each guest. So I’m gonna use those really hard paper so can create a proper frame. Well this is my initial idea but I’m sure when I visit the paper shops I’ll go berserk and change it all over again.

For the menu part, since the party will be during tea time so will be serving mostly fingerfood. I plan to cook my own food so I prefer them to be hassle free. So these are what I have in mind for now:

• fried chicken (hopefully home made since my parents are against ready made ones … *sigh)
• chicken cheese fritters
• chicken cutlets
• chicken pita
• sandwiches – tuna / egg / cheese
• fruit custard – courtesy of baizurah … huhuhu =P
• fettuccine with white sauce
• fried macaroni
• ice cream (ermm not home made k)
• bee hoon Singapore (I will attempt to make this since it is quite easy … nas!!! i need the recipe!!!?!?!?)
• onion rings
• salad
• fruit punch (free flow)

I will of course not make everything … gila ka?!?! will choose the most popular and most convenient to make …

I am sure the guys will be on the ps so i’m not worried about entertainment. Will have balloons for deco and those party hats and those party whistles (dunno wat they are called la)

My husband and brothers can be incharge of photographs. I’ll fry extra chicken for them as “upah” … muhahaha !!!

I need to find a place in PENANG ISLAND to make his ONE shaped cake. I have emailed one, but I need some more to compare and all. So any suggestions would be most welcomed.
